Diagonal Thoughts is an architectural studio that explores environments and social spaces across scales, from the intimate to the urban. Each project pursues possibilities for multilayered perception and embodied experience through various media in both physical and visual realms.

Acknowledging uncertainty as the nature of all phenomena, the studio seeks the fundamental potentials that architecture can offer—existential awareness, psychological solace, aesthetic desire, and spaces enabling mental transcendence. Through works ranging from buildings and pavilions to furniture, objects, writing, curatorial projects, and video, Diagonal Thoughts navigates and redefines the complexity and scope of architectural practice.

At its core, the studio continually poses questions both unexpected and essential. Architectural outcomes, while bound to physical construction, simultaneously materialize conceptual realities. This generates an inspiring tension between conceptual imagination and material construction, continuously interrogating and destabilizing conventional disciplinary boundaries.

모든 현상의 불확실성을 본질로 전제하면서, 건축이 인간에게 제공할 수 있는 근본적 잠재력 – 존재에 대한 자각, 심리적 위안, 아름다움에 대한 열망, 그리고 정신적 초월을 가능케 하는 장소– 을 탐구한다. 건축물과 파빌리온, 가구와 오브제, 글쓰기와 기획, 영상 작업에 이르기까지 건축 실천의 범위와 지평을 확장한다.
